Ashlea Limited is exclusively owned by four Directors who actively take a working role within the company.
Mike Carney
Managing Director
Mike joined Ashlea Limited in 1985 as Company Administrator.
Mike has over 20 years experience in business development and administration role within the landscape industry. He is responsible for implementing company policies and procedures within Ashlea Limited.
As well as being the Managing Director, Mike’s roles within in the company also include business development, quantity surveying, estimating and project management.
Mike is a keen golfer, and is an active member within the handicap and competitions committee at his local golf club, in his spare time, he also manages a local football team.

Richard Ford
Contracts Director
Richard joined the company in 1996 as a Contracts Manager and was initially based on the Trafford Centre Project for a period of 18 months. Richard had the drive and enthusiasm to develop his position within the company and when the opportunity arose he became a Director in 2000, overseeing all Contract Managers and associated contracts. Richard’s hands-on experience is invaluable for his current role as he has experience of a Contract Managers role and is aware of possible problems and solutions.
Richard is the Director responsible for Health and Safety and is also responsible for all personnel issues, handling all company disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Richard also works in his capacity as a Fleet Manager and is the key buyer for all plant and machinery. All vehicles are allocated and purchased by Richard and he controls the Operators License for the company.
Richard is also a keen golfer and is a past Captain. He is also involved on both the Main Committee and Greens Sub-Committee at his local club.

Bruce Tyrer
Projects Director
Bruce joined Ashlea Ltd on leaving school as a general operative and quickly proved his ability to become a key player within the company.
In 2000, Bruce assumed overall control of all large projects in the capacity of Projects Director, being responsible for long and short term programming to meet the client’s requirements. and the monitoring and implementation of the client’s health & safety and environmental policies. Bruce works closely with all main contractors in and around the Manchester area and over the years has built up excellent supply chain relationships working in a collaborative manner

Peter Jeffreys
Finance Director and Company Secretary
Peter joined Ashlea Ltd in 2000 as Finance Director and Company Secretary.
Peter’s career has always been structured around business finance, working for major accounting firms before spending 15 years with AXA Insurance.
Peter now manages all aspects of the company’s finances from credit control and future business plans to dealing with our external advisors.
Like most staff at Ashlea, Peter is a keen golfer and also enjoys spending long winter evenings playing bridge.
