Ashlea Ltd are proud to have secured the soft landscape contract at Mayfield Park near Piccadilly Station in Greater Manchester.

The 6.5 acre park will be the first new park to be constructed in more than 100 years in the Uk.

Ecological improvements that have been designed include 'generous' river edges and habitat, bird nesting opportunities, bat roosts under bridges or park walls, rock weirs that will improve the flow of the river.

The area will be completely transformed and will surround the banks of the River Medlock and feature parkland and gardens with trees and shrubbery, as well as walkways for the public to use. The park will also feature space for everyone to use, including play areas, space for sports, an urban square, floodable meadows and quiet spaces for those who want a break from the city.

We look forward to starting on site later this month with a 26 week build programme.

The park is to be opened to the public later in 2022.
